PROJECT OBJECTIVES

  • To document hydrogeologic, soil, vegetation, land-use, economic, and social data to support interdisciplinary research in the Ojos Negros valley, Baja California, Mexico.

  • To couple an agricultural data base with a GIS-based hydrogeologic model to study the economic and social impacts of groundwater depletion.

  • To examine the issue of sustainable water-resources management as it relates to the Ojos Negros valley.
